What are endpoints?
An endpoint is anything that connects to the Internet. The vast majority of these endpoints will have a setting that allows you to change the endpoint’s DNS server. Changing this setting to one of our FREE resolvers or to one of the personal, custom endpoints you can set up in your Control D account is what allows the magic to happen.If you have a premium Control D plan, you have access to 100 endpoints - that’s 100 unique resolvers and unique opportunities to control your Internet.When you set the DNS server to your personalized resolver, each of your endpoints is able to enforce whichever profile you choose (or two, if you choose to set a schedule for the endpoint). What’s a profile, you ask?
What are profiles?
A profile is a collection of rules that you set to define your desired browsing behaviour. Each profile can have Filters, Services, Custom Rules, a Default Location (should you so choose) and various profile options.If you have a premium Control D plan, you can have up to 100 unique profiles. That’s 100 unique sets of rules that can be enforced by one or more of your endpoints.
