Another month, another batch of upgrades to make Control D even more powerful!
Whether you’re testing domains, managing block pages, or setting up new integrations, we’ve packed this update with features designed to give you more control (pun intended). Plus, we’ve expanded billing options and fine-tuned the dashboard with a host of improvements.
Let’s dive in!
1. New Domain Test Tool
Ever wondered how a domain resolves when it passes through Control D? Now, you don’t have to.
With our new Domain Test Page (under the Analytics tab), you can enter any domain name, select an Endpoint, pick a DNS record type, and check exactly how Control D resolves that domain. If it’s blocked, we’ll tell you why – whether it’s due to a Filter, Service, or something else.
What if you think we got it wrong? No problem. A new Report False Positive button lets you flag incorrect blocks, helping us fine-tune our network filtering.
We’ve also repurposed it into a free Website Link Checker tool that is available for anyone, whether you’re a Control D user or not! This tool allows you to instantly check how the standard free resolvers from the Free DNS page will resolve the request, helping you determine whether the domain is safe or not before you visit it.
2. Single Sign-On for Personal Users

In January, we announced Single Sign-On (SSO) capabilities with Okta for organizations. Now, we’re bringing SSO to personal users with Google SSO!
You can now start using Control D with a single click. If you already have a Control D account that's attached your Google email, you can login into it using the same method.
3. Organization CAD & EUR Billing

Great news for Canadian and European organizations!
We’ve introduced the ability to pay in CAD (Canadian Dollar) and EUR (Euro), making billing more convenient for our customers both at home and abroad.
No more worrying about fluctuating exchange rates – just a smoother checkout experience in your local currency.
Note: This is available upon request, please reach out to us to switch your account currency.
4. Custom Block Page Additions

Your Custom Block Page now shows exactly which Filter blocked the domain – whether it's Malware, Social Media, Gambling, or others – giving you more transparency and visibility over your filtering policies.
But, that’s not all.
Admins can now set a Custom Block Page at the Sub-Organization level, overriding the global Custom Block Page. This means different departments, teams, or clients within your organization can have their own tailored block pages for a more personalized user experience.
To create one, simply:
- Navigate to your Sub-Organization
- Click on the Profile
- Navigate to the Profile Options Tab
- Configure a Block Response
5. Integrations Page
If you want to know what operating systems, browsers, routers, tools, and partners Control D integrates with – heads up, it’s a lot – then check out our new Integrations page. Plus, if we have documentation that walks you through the installation and configuration for that tool, we’ve linked it there, too.
So whether you’re setting up Control D for home or business, you can now find all compatible platforms and setup guides in one convenient location.
